PHYSIOLOGICAL AGING
Hormonal imbalances, poor lifestyle habits, increased senescent burden and many more factors cause damages to our body. Those cellular damages creates chronic inflammation which increases production and circulation of cytotoxic factors, in turn causes more damage and dysfunction to healthy cells and tissues. ENVIRONMENTAL AGING
Aging is accelerated from exposure to environmental factors such as pollution, UV light and Reactive oxygen species (ROS). The ROS is harmless or even beneficial at a controllable level especially when we are younger. However, our defenses against oxidative stress decreases as we grow older. As the ROS accumulates, it causes damages to mitochondria and other organelles, as well as increases the number of mutations in our DNA.
